Iran – is Trump keeping the mullahs in power?

When brutal dictators lie to each other, the result is something like the current situation in Iran. The mullahs are still in control.

(KL) – The mullahs in Iran know exactly how to lead Donald Trump by the nose. The regime’s claim that “no one else will be killed” and “no executions are planned” prompted the US president to politely thank the mullahs and declare to the world that, thanks to his once again brilliant intervention, the killing in Iran has come to an end. He said he knew this from “reliable sources,” namely the mullah regime itself. Only – that’s not true.

It is however true that participation in this popular uprising has weakened, which is understandable when taking part in a demonstration involves a real danger to life. But that does not mean that the revolution is over – we are still receiving reports from Iran of bloody clashes between demonstrators and Revolutionary Guards and special forces in cities such as Tehran, Mashhad, Saveh, Kermanshah, and Ilam, to name but a few. The mercenaries of the mullah regime continue to use massive force, there are numerous arrests, and despite the hypocritical statements of Justice Minister Alireza Ayavi, well over 10,000 detainees are awaiting trial for “war against God,” a vague charge that carries the threat of the death penalty. But of course, it is more convenient for Trump to believe the mullahs’ lies.

In Tehran alone, the mullahs have mobilized 52,000 soldiers from the Revolutionary Guards and various special forces, who are heavily armed and terrorizing the city, shooting at demonstrators and marking them with paintball bullets so that their colleagues can deal with them later.

Trump’s interference has given the mullahs a free pass, which is a stab in the back for the revolution. With Trump suddenly siding with the other side, as he has done in so many conflicts, the situation for the demonstrators is becoming more difficult every day. The mullahs were already on the verge of being driven from power, and even though many courageous, mainly young Iranians continue to protest, the situation has become much more difficult for them.

Nevertheless, the rebels have no choice but to continue their struggle, because otherwise it is clear that they will be murdered, arrested, and put on trial one by one, where the death penalty awaits them. Even the mullahs themselves probably did not expect that it would be so easy to lie to Donald Trump that the deadly repression was over.

How the situation will develop is more than unclear, because information from Iran is still very sparse, with the internet still only occasionally being opened up, mainly for representatives of the criminal regime. But, as with any revolution, the situation will be decided very quickly, in a matter of days. Because revolutions are either successful or they are crushed. Donald Trump is now offering the mullahs the opportunity to end the uprising bloodily, whereby it is apparently enough for them to tell Trump that they are not doing so.

It is just another example of Trump’s total failure, but this time it will not be the Americans who will have to pay the price, but the Iranian people. At the moment, we can only hope that the rebels will persevere and not pay for the fight for freedom and democracy with their lives.
