The situation in Iran is becoming unbearable

While thousands of Iranians are protesting in the country due to water, food, and energy shortages, the regime is organizing a wave of executions of unknown proportions.

(KL) – The theocratic regime of the mullahs in Iran is faltering more and more. The old men who are repressing the country, based on a completely false interpretation of the Koran, are brutally executing the opposition and those they consider to be oppositionists. By now, all that can be reported are numbers, but behind each number lies a human destiny. The international community can no longer stand by and watch as the mullahs oppress their own people.

In the last three weeks, the regime has executed at least 207 people, 69 of them in just four days. At the same time, protests have taken place in many Iranian cities, even though such protests are life-threatening for those who participate in them in Iran. In Mashhad, nurses demonstrated against their unacceptable working conditions and lack of equipment, which was doubly courageous because women who protest publicly against the aging mullah regime, are doubly at risk. There were also protests in other cities, primarily because of shortages of water, gasoline, electricity, and food.

In a rich country like Iran, these supply shortages are a clear indication of the mullahs’ inability to govern the country. They try to contain this inability through brutal repression by the “Revolutionary Guards”, but this repressive behavior is reminiscent of the final phase of the GDR regime, which was also unable to hold on to power through repression.

Increasingly, protests on individual issues are merging into large-scale protests against the regime, which is rejected by the majority of Iranians. For example, after Ahmad Baldi’s self-immolation (reported by Eurojournalist(e)), the protests merged with protests by workers at the South Pars Refinery 12 and those by family members of prisoners on death row awaiting execution. The mullah regime can only remain in power through its execution frenzy and constant repression of the population. The theocratic system is deceiving itself and the country, because there is not a single surah in the Koran that justifies the mullahs’ lust for murder.

To make matters worse, various reports describe the activities of the Iranian foreign intelligence service, which persecutes and threatens opposition figures in exile and their families in Iran. European authorities are called upon to identify, arrest, and immediately expel these Iranian agents.

It is clear that this regime will be overthrown sooner or later. The only question is when this will happen, because every day that the mullahs remain in power costs Iranian citizens their lives. The 10-point plan of the National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI) is still on the table, but no one in the West knows how to support the work of the NCRI in a way that will bring concrete results. We must not forget that every day the mullahs continue their murderous work costs human lives. The time to act is now.
