(KD / KL) – In a powerful display of solidarity and defiance, tens of thousands of Iranians from across Europe converged at the iconic Atomium in Brussels on Saturday, stressing that the solution to Iran’s crisis is neither foreign war nor appeasement, but rather the Third Option articulated by Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI): Change by the people and the organized resistance.

The rally transformed the Atomium plaza into a vibrant sea of flags, banners, and chants. The atmosphere was electric, with participants waving portraits of political prisoners and chanting slogans like “Stop executions in Iran!” and “Activate snapback now!”

Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), was the keynote speaker. Other speakers included former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, former UK House of Commons Speaker John Bercow, former Speaker of the UK House of Commons, Congressman Patrick Kennedy, former U.S. Representative, and former Vice-President of the European Parliament Dr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras, who survived an attempt on his life carried by organized crime gang members hired by the Iranian regime.

The Protesters urged EU leaders to recognize the right of the Iranian people and the organized resistance for a regime change in Iran, to immediately implement UN Security Council resolutions against the Iranian regime, and to immediately halt the regime’s execution spree, which claimed 170 lives in August alone.

The rally was followed by a spirited march through the streets of Brussels.

Maryam Rajavi’s speech drew thunderous applause from the crowd. She pointed out “The answer to the Iranian crisis is the overthrow of the entire religious tyranny! The people of Iran are more prepared than ever! Iranian society is in a volatile state, and the only solution is the Third Option, neither appeasement nor war, but regime change by the people and their organized resistance!

Let me emphasize to the West: Do not delay designating the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) a terrorist organization any longer! Do not delay enforcing UN Security Council resolutions against the regime’s nuclear projects any longer!

Do not delay recognizing the right of the Resistance Units to resist and confront the IRGC any longer!

This decisiveness is in the interest of the Iranian people! This decisiveness is an imperative for regional and global peace and security! Giving more time to this regime will once again bring war, and that must never be allowed!”

The NCRI president-elect stressed “I warn Khamenei and the mullahs, beware: The waves of executions will not extinguish the volcano of the Iranian people’s revolt! Imprisonment and torture will no longer work. Stoking war and destruction or imposing economic suffering on the people of Iran will not save your decaying regime! Yes, uprising and overthrow are on the way!”

The day marked the 60th anniversary of formation of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, the principal Iranian resistance movement and the key member of the NCRI.

“The Shah fell, and the mullahs will fall as well. But throughout these sixty years, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) rose time and again from its ashes and endured – especially in the face of baseless labels and boundless demonization. And today, the PMOI, within the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), has presented the only democratic and independent alternative, carrying forward the 120-year struggle of the Iranian people for freedom”, Rajavi underscored.

Former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence delivered a powerful message of support, marking the 60th anniversary of the MEK: “We gather today to celebrate a milestone of extraordinary significance… an unstoppable movement for freedom called the MEK.” He praised Maryam Rajavi’s leadership: “You have given voice to the voiceless, courage to the oppressed, and hope to millions who dream of a free and peaceful Iran.”

Pence condemned the regime’s brutality, referencing the 1988 massacre and recent executions of MEK members: “The regime’s goal is clear: to crush the organized resistance… But in so doing, the mullahs have revealed their deepest fear – the Iranian people themselves.” He emphasized the role of Resistance Units inside Iran: “They are the beating heart of hope… igniting uprisings and sustaining protests with courage that inspires the world.” Pence also called on European governments to act decisively: “The time for hesitation has passed. The time to act is now. Impose crippling sanctions… and stand openly with the Iranian people and their aspirations.” He concluded with a vision of hope: “The story of Iran has been interrupted by tyranny, but it is not over… And when that day comes, when the ayatollahs fall and freedom rises, all the world will rejoice.”

Former Belgian PM Guy Verhofstadt concluded with a hopeful note: “We in the West must stop saying there is no alternative to the mullahs. Your massive presence here proves the contrary. You are the alternative.”

The world recognizes today the NCRI under the leadership of Maryam Rajavi as the legit  representation of the Iranian opposition, as the leading force to bring a peaceful and democratic transition to Iran. As stated Mike Pence: The time to act is now!
