I work for the climate and the digital issues. I really want to use the broad shoulders of Europe. Look at the statistics: Europe together represents more than 20 percent of the gross national products. Think about the possibilities! Think about the possibilities how we can steer forward to more sustainable goods, to get rid off the plastic stuff which is not needed. Or get some rules for the digital market. I was part of the roaming effort, and people got rid off too expansive phone calls. So we have to use the possibilities to steer the world to the better.

Ich arbeite an der Klimafrage und in den digitalen Angelegenheiten. Ich will die starken Schultern Europas nutzen. Schauen Sie auf die Statistik: Europa repräsentiert 20 Prozent der Bruttonationalprodukte. Denken Sie an die Möglichkeiten! Die Möglichkeit, wie wir auf nachhaltigere Produkte hinwirken, unnötiges Plastikzeug loswerden oder einige Regeln für den digitalen Markt erwirken können. Ich habe bei der Roaminggebührverordnung mitgemacht, nun ist Schluss mit den zu teuren Telefonaten. Wir müssen unsere Möglichkeiten nutzen, um die Welt in eine bessere Richtung zu lenken.

Je travaille sur la question du climat et les affaires numériques. Et je souhaite profiter des larges épaules de l’Europe. Regardez les chiffres : l’Europe représente 20 pour cent des PIB nationaux. Imaginez les possibilités de créer les bases pour nous débarrasser des produits obsolètes en plastique ou pour instaurer des règles pour le marché numérique. J’ai contribué à la directive sur les frais d’itinérance – et maintenant, les coups de fil trop onéreux sont terminés ! Nous devons profiter de nos possibilités pour orienter le monde dans une meilleure direction.
